PDMA declares 10 districts of Pakhtunkhwa sensitive ahead of monsoon rains
PESHAWAR: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has declared 10 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa sensitive ahead of the expected monsoon rains.
The PDMA has also devised strategy to minimise damages in the expected floods after heavy rains. The PDMA Director General Muhammad Khalid said at a press conference in Peshawar on Wednesday that the PDMA has released Rs473.6 million to administrations of different districts to make arrangements to minimise expected flood damages.
Mr Khalid said flood alert has been issued for Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Dera Ismail Khan, Chitral, Swat, Shangla, Upper and Lower Dir and Kohistan. He said equipment required in any emergency situation has already been dispatched to these districts. -TNN
