FATA students to stage massive protest in Peshawar today against delay in reforms
PESHAWAR: The FATA Students Organisation is organising a massive protest rally against delay in implementation of reforms in FATA in Peshawar today (Wednesday).
Political parties activists, social activists and people’s representatives are expected to attend the rally of FATA students. The organisers said the rally will start from Qayyum Stadium and end at Governor House. They said the students will stage sit-in in front of the Governor House and will not end their protest till acceptance of their demands. They said their demands include scrapping of Frontier Crimes Regulation (FCR), merger of FATA with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, allocation of seats in the KP Assembly to FATA members and 10 other related demands.
The organisers said the federal government has made a mockery of the reforms process for the last two years, adding that they decided to stage protest as last resort as they were not left with any other option. They said the general public will also join them, while parliamentarians including Al-Haaj Shah Jee Gul Afridi, Shahabuddin Khan, Sajid Turi and Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao will also attend the rally. -TNN
