North Waziristan TDPs’ repatriation from Afghanistan to resume on July 12
GHULAM KHAN: Repatriation process of the North Waziristan Agency’s displaced families from Afghanistan to resume from July 12.
This was decided during a successful jirga at Pak-Afghan border in Ghulam Khan between tribal elders, security forces and political administration. Malak Nasrullah Khan, chief of Waziristan chaired the jirga, which was also participated by representatives of displaced families in Afghanistan. Assistant political agent Shirani, additional political agent Abdul Nasir, Commandant FC Colonel Shafique and Pak Army’s major Ali also attended the jirga.
The jirga discussed schedule and plan for the repatriation of displaced families who fled to Afghanistan’s Khost province after the army initiated the military Operation Zarb-e-Azb in 2014 to counter terrorism in the region. The jirga decided to resume the repatriation process of temporarily displaced families from Afghanistan. -TNN
